Nordic Walking World Championships in Lahti 2026

The International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) and Finlandia Ski Marathon will jointly organize the Nordic Walking World Championships in Lahti, Finland, on 11–13 September 2026.

Lahti and the Salpausselkä terrain offer world-class conditions for the Nordic walking World Championships in 2026. The collaboration with Finlandia Ski Marathon brings strong organizational expertise and decades of experience in delivering major international events.

The Nordic Walking World Championships are open to all participants of the sport. Categories are divided by gender and age group, allowing both competitive athletes and recreational fitness walkers to take part. The event program includes individual races, a relay race, and the relaxed Finlandia Fun series.

A Growing International Sport

INWA is the world’s largest Nordic Walking organization, with activities in more than 30 countries. Organized competition under INWA began in 2017, and the sport has grown in popularity globally year by year. Participants from a wide range of countries and age groups are expected to attend the Lahti championships.
